Mercedes Krapovickas & Mareike Dobewall – B-Nature / Concrete Energy LP

This album brings together two sonic worlds: one that listens to moss, ice, and leaves; the other, to concrete, cables, and the pulse of a metropolis.

Side A: B-Nature

In collaboration with composer Mareike Dobewall, B-Nature explores a form of co-creation between human, instrument, and the more-than-human world. Mareike’s nature-based scores emerge from deep listening to natural phenomena—lichen patterns, falling leaves, icy windows. These scores are propositions. Enigmas. Invitations.

Composed for woman and her bandoneon, the work was developed in close dialogue with Mercedes Krapovickas, who translates the textures and movements of nature into breath, bellows, and sound.

Side B: Concrete Energy

This is the city’s turn to speak. In this solo project by Mercedes Krapovickas, the bandoneon meets electronics—often live, always charged. The result is a raw, layered listening experience where rhythm and distortion carry both sweetness and grit. Concrete Energy is a playful and serious attempt at “playing cities.”

Two sides of the same resonating instrument: one rooted in soil and silence, the other vibrating with urban chaos. Between them, a body listens—and plays.
